You guys thought I would forget about this did you! Haha Nope.
Anyways, something that's been on my mind since the very theme of Survivor 33 came to my attention. The implications of the word "Generation".
To me, Generation just means "A very long time". Of course, I'm a bit wrong turns out. I did some research into things when after hearing about GenX vs Millennials sparked some people into wondering just which side of this gap do they fall under. Turns out, by some research, Survivor just kinda shoved the ten oldest contestants on one side and the ten youngest on the other. I mean, there is a gap of a year (seriously, where does 1983 fall in the Survivor world?) but is that the actual boundaries that the generations have?
Well, it's around there. Most people usually associate 1982, not 1984, as the start of the Millennial generation. The end of it is around 1994-1995. A lot of people usually gauge it around 9/11, if we can remember what it was like before it.
Fun fact- I remember those years as the ranges (1982-1994) because those are the years an old coworker and myself were born.
Although I do add that almost no one I know ever associates themselves with their generation. Growing up I heard the term "Baby Boomer" and that's really all. I only see the word "Millennial" when it's plastered on articles claiming they're entitled or something. I don't see a lot of positive things in the media about Millennials. I never even heard the term "GenX" until Survivor. I still don't know what their common stereotypes inforced by the media, because I have never seen any. I may be wrong on that front, maybe they had that a time ago.
On my personal side, I am a Millennial. I was born in 1994. I work at a full time job, I live by myself. I have anxiety that prevented me from driving a car until really recently. I didn't have an easy time growing up. I was a victim of child abuse, something that I had a really problem with coming to terms with until this year. I am a lover of technology. (I will say that Zeke's comment of "I hate twitter, I still have a twitter but I hate twitter", applies to me about Facebook) I don't think that truely any stereotype adheres to anyone. It really worries me that Survivor might try to really sell this season on that.
I did laugh at the whole "We don't take shortcuts of handouts" then GenX proceeds to... take the handout of the tarp and shortcuts in the challenge. Well done.
I won't ramble on about this. A few thoughts on Survivor.
~ I think Rachel oddly perfectly displays on why I won't last in Survivor. Her and David. It's just easier to say Rachel because she seems like an awkward mess like David only she was the one who got voted out.
~ Figgy Figs. (Fun fact- she's the contestant that's the closest to me in age.)
~ Jessica and the Legacy twist. Well, I actually adore Jessica so far. She's probably my favorite GenX person at point. Her poor eyes though.
~ Speaking of the Cyclone, just a reminder to the people on Twitter claiming that they should have just left them there, those are pretty much Hurricanes. If I was a Survivor Producer I still want a show and I don't want to broadcast someone's death.
~ My other two strong favorites are Hannah and Mari. I kind of recognize Mari since I'm a gamer person too. Hannah is this curly haired glasses girl which I am one too. Go team.
~ Chris is from Oklahoma. He's from Moore which is nowhere near Skiatook/Tulsa but you know. Although I was pretty close to him while I was in Norman.
~ I'm extremely neutral on this season so far. The Twittering was fun so if I'm off again I'll be at it.
Actually that's a small note in itself. My schedule this week is a little messed up. Please refer to my twitter to that updates. My Hell's Kitchen stuff is going to be on the upcoming podcast (Spoiler, I am very #TeamRyan, #TeamHeather, and #TeamJessica) so stick around for that. If my Friday night gets changed I shall live tweet that. However at the moment I'm working that shift.
Anyways, that's all for the moment. Thank you for the read. :)

A Few Words
Hello one and all and thank you for reading! I'm Heather Nicole Smith, or just Heather, and I welcome you to my new blog. First up, a few things to get out of the way.
1) I don't know if this blog will stay on Blogspot. I might move it to Wordpress. For now I'm not going to mess with something that isn't broken.
2) My old blog, the Comedy Stars Blog, will stay affiliated with this blog. Mostly because there is a certain page up there that I don't want to take down.
3) My goal will be one post every week about something. Ultimately I will do whatever I want but I do understand that does not gain a good following so I shall try my best with that.
4) Follow my Twitter @Heather_Short17 for any and all updates pertaining to this blog. I currently work a full time job. I also have plenty in my life going on that might result in me getting way too busy for this. I will apologize for this right now. Yup, I already know that that will be a thing. I'm so predictable even I can predict myself. Wait...
5) Email has been the same as always. Feel free to drop me one. :)
I think that's all the points I'll cover. Nothing too big at this moment that I really want to get into. Just a couple of things that I'll get doing this week.
I will be starting the Yes Chef Podcasts with Ben this weekend. Hell's Kitchen fires up once again this Friday, I will be live tweeting it. If I see any good ones I might read them out on air. Or if not then forget my statement with that.
I'm off Wednesday night so I'll be also live tweeting Survivor: GenX Vs Millennials. I have no favorable hopes for this season so you know that it will be me just absolutely having as much fun with it as possible. I am an opportunist. Any and all great tweets I see may be saved and stored to be posted here. I you see a heart you might see yours here. :)
Thank you for your time. I know it's very valuable. Have fun, and be safe.
Love, Heather.
